This Swedish company started out as Net Entertainment in 1996, before officially changing its name to NetEnt in 2005. NetEnt is now a public company traded on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The company has also expanded internationally with offices in Malta, Ukraine, Poland, Gibraltar, the States, and of course on their home turf in Sweden.
Most slot players will know NetEnt for its beautiful slots, which often are the first to introduce innovations. However, NetEnt actually provides a range of online casino games and solutions. It's also known for its live dealer casino that is readily available on both desktop and mobile. Additionally, the company also provides the back office and CRM technology to help online casinos with customer relationship management. They also ensure their games fall into licensing requirements of different gaming jurisdictions so that players in various countries can enjoy their games. Doing so many things right, players love these games and there are lots of Netent casinos around.
NetEnt Video Slots
Of course, the highlight at NetEnt is on slots. Anyone who's been around know Starburst is a smooth rolling game that pays out often. It's a really simple slot, but it's still a slickly designed space age game. This is true for all NetEnt slots – they all stand out with their first class graphics that rival Disney productions. And to no surprise, they've won more than a few awards for their games. NetEnt has won Slot Provider of the Year at the EGR Gaming Awards for several years in a row, as well as other top prizes in Innovation in Slot Provision and Innovation in Mobile. So what have these guys done exactly?
Tumbling Reels
Also called the avalanche Feature, or cascading slots, tumbling reels is a relatively new introduction to online slots. And it's definitely one of the most popular features that has transformed game play, with many other providers following this technique. Gonzo's Quest was the first slot to have the tumbling reel feature. Instead of symbols spinning on reels, symbols fall into place. After they've been credited, winning symbols explode and the symbols above fall into place, with new symbols coming in to fill the gap. The symbols keep falling until there are no more wins. So basically, you can get several chances to win multiple paylines with just one spin. It's not hard to see why Gonzo's Quest has become one of NetEnt's most popular games. Other NetEnt games with tumbling reels include Pyramid: Quest for Immortality and Elements: The Awakening. Although these slots don't have the same tumbling feel that you get from the mystical Aztec rocks in Gonzo's Quest, the mechanism is still very much the same.
Cultural and Music Icons
NetEnt's high production values has meant that many famous names have trusted the company to develop their slots. Guns n' Roses, Jimi Hendrix, Motörhead – these are just some of the rock stars that trust NetEnt to develop awesome slots in their name. Music fans can enjoy their favourite musician's tunes as the soundtrack to rewarding slot play. And from the movies, the Scarface and Dracula slots will also keep you on the edge of your seat.
NetEnt Progressive Jackpots
So other than some of the best video slots on the web, NetEnt's progressive jackpots have also made some headlines. Mega Fortune is probably the most famous. It pays out regularly in the millions and its mobile version holds the record for largest mobile jackpot win ever at €8.6 million. On desktop, Mega Fortune used to hold the world record with a €17.86 million payout – until the title was snatched by Microgaming's Mega Moolah by just a few hundred thousand more. The two jackpots are known to fight neck to neck in terms of seriously huge wins.
There are quite a few millionaire makers in this provider's portfolio. Other big NetEnt jackpots include Hall of Gods, and Arabian Nights. Hall of Gods' average win is at €5.8 million. Arabian Nights seeds at €125,000 and the average win is roughly €1.6 million. They're not as big as Mega Fortune, but it's hard to imagine any winners complaining.
If you're the kind of player who goes for progressive games with smaller jackpots because there's less competition, take a look at Super Lucky Frog, or Icy Wonders. These jackpots could give you a few easy grand to take home.
NetEnt Bonuses
With Netent slots so popular with players, lots of online casinos offer NetEnt bonuses. Free spins for Starburst, Gonzo's Quest, and Aloha! Cluster Pays are relatively frequent features in Welcome Bonus packages. New NetEnt games are also usually prominently celebrated in online casinos through Game of the Month or similar kind of promotions with more free spins up for grabs. And of course, deposit bonuses will give you the flexibility to play any NetEnt game you like.
Summary
NetEnt makes some of the best online slots. Flawless graphics, innovative slot features, fun payouts. Sometimes, the jackpots can deliver some more than real money wins in the millions. It's hard not to like these guys. You can try their games and grab a bonus at some of the NetEnt casinos listed on our site.
